There’s nothing quite like summertime at the beach—soft sand under your feet, salty ocean breezes, and the sound of waves rolling in. This summer, I had the joy of photographing my husband’s side of the family during our trip to South Padre Island, and it was such a beautiful reminder of why I love family sessions so much.
The beach gave us the dreamiest backdrop: pastel skies as the sun began to set, sparkling water, and wide stretches of shoreline that seemed to go on forever. Everyone came barefoot and relaxed, ready to laugh and enjoy the moment, which made the session feel so natural and fun.
We captured sweet group portraits, but some of my favorite moments were the candid ones—cousins running along the shoreline and splashing in the waves together. There’s just something about the beach that brings out joy in every age.
This South Padre Island session is one I’ll always treasure, and I’m so grateful to have captured these moments for our family to look back on for years to come.
